The programme of study atITME trains Marine Engineers in compliance with national and international competency standards. The courses are conducted and supervised by highly qualified and experienced faculty members who have hard-won expertise in the sector of maritime transport and marine engineering imparting sufficient exposure to IMO regulations. There is also intense physical and leadership training - all to strengthen and enhance the personality of the graduates ready to ride on the seven seas.

Course Module
First Year
Introduction to basic Engineering Sciences.

Second Year
Workshop Technology, Economics & Commercial Geography, Basic Ship Structure, Marine Auxiliary Machines and Seamanship.

Third Year
Marine drawing & elementary Design, Marine Boilers, Internal Combustion Engines, Management Science and Advanced theoretical inputs.

Fourth Year
Naval Architecture, Ship Safety & Environmental Protection, Marine Machinery System Design, Refrigeration & Air conditioning, Control & Automation and focus on ship operations and management.

Relevant workshop training, Project work, model making, is a regular feature for all four years.

BE (Mech), M.O.T.(1st class), with 12 years Industrial and 26 years of teaching experience.

Admission
Admission through WBJEE/AIEEE followed by counseling.

Eligibility/ Qualification

Maximum age limit of the candidate should not cross beyond 20 years as on 1st Aujust, 2008.

Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board, with minimum of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and 50% marks in English in class X or XII examination conducted by recognized board.
