Marine Engineering as a branch of study deals with nautical architecture and science. Its academic scope encompasses every kind of research conducted in oceans and in coastal or inland waters. Technically, Marine Engineering includes every aspect of design, construction and maintenance of ships and other sailing vessels. Therefore, Marine Engineers have the complete responsibility of the ship's procedural management.

Eligibility Criteria
- Admission is through WBJEE/AIEEE.
- Candidates must have an aggregate of 60% with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in their 10+2 or any equivalent examination.
- Candidates must have received 50% marks in English in their Class X or Class XII examinations.
- The age-limit is 25 years.
- The candidate must be physically fit with good eyesight (within +/- 2.5, no colour blindness).
