Prof. T K Basu, an Electrical Engineer by profession (B.Tech and M.Tech from IIT Kharagpur and Ph.D. from IIT Delhi), is currently Director at ITME.
He has vast experience in teaching profession starting his career from NIT Kurukshetra, IIT Bombay and finally retired from IIT Kharagpur in 2009. During his teaching profession, he has guided 10 Ph.D. scholars and more than 60 M.Tech projects. After his retirement, he was advisor to the faculty of Science and Engineering at Aliah University, Kolkata. He was a member of Zonal Advisory Board of LIC (2002-2006) and has been on the board of Directors of WBSETCL since inception (2008).
His deep involvement in interdisciplinary research and rich experience in teaching as well as association with several academic and professional bodies will help ITME to grow and establish as a centre of academic excellence in near future.

Its aim is to create an ambience for all of you to bring out your hidden potential to the maximum. Let us all join hands in making the campus life more colourful which will provide you an intellectually challenging academic environment, excellent facilities for sports and cultural activities and encourage creative and recreational activities for your physical and intellectual growth.
I am confident that after a four year stay at the college, you will come out as a complete man to face any challenging task in life, professional or otherwise. Some of you will become entrepreneurs of industry with newer technologies !! Finally all your endeavours should help raise the standard of living of the common man.
